the petite protester
Last month, just a bit after Halloween, we headed up to our local firehouse to do a bit of protesting. It seems the Philadelphia budget can not handle the added expense of a firehouse for the local residents. Milo and I felt we needed to stand with our neighbors and give the city a little what-for about our safety!

poesy
On Thanksgiving Day, on our ride to Delaware, we were chatting about poetry, and I decided to read a bit of recently written poetry....
Milo listened attentively, and than said he had a poem,
which I happily and almost speedily wrote down word for word...here is his first poem....
::spoken in a young robert frost, dedicated to the moment but not caught up in pretense::
Milo's Poem
or Untitled
Snow comes cold
collapses
than it landed-
it all pieces
snow
the barn snowed in
ice was breaking when it was snowing
the trees died, broke into pieces
the roadway snowed in and the trees were down
& on the road
& the cars can't go
electricity is down
the clouds fall
the monster trucks can't go through
more trees died & knocked telephone wires & collapsed
& the car antenea's were bended
& everything destroyed-even the house
electricty down,
kids couldn't play on the computer
grass going dead
chipmunks and squirrils hided in the burrow
& the signs went down and broke-collapsed
only the monster truck trains can go...
I hope you all enjoyed!

Two eggs over uneasy.
Suprise! We found out nate has a severe allergy to eggs. Last night Jenna made a "breakfast" dinner. Nate had a hard boiled egg and after a few minutes her started to have a reaction. By the time he hit tub time , he was weezing and puffy. A quick shot of benadryl, and a trip to the E.R. He was doing better. Mom and Nate got to have a sleep over and enjoy the lovely hospital food!
I think we are at the peak of our Cpu withdraw. Anyday now. Right?

Alive!
So sorry in not resonsing to our massive amount of fan mail sooner. As we have learned from having 2 kids, is that plans are something of the past. We have also have been busy buying more cars! Ok well just one. An 02 none the less. So right now we are up to four cars. What else can you do when you have off street parking!
Oh and the Computer is in the "shop" we are all going through some withdrawl.
Ok here are some answers to our many fan Emails.
1- yes always
2- no not this week.
3- no, I will not "stuff"the "turkey" again.
4-not yet.
5- Jenna doesn't think so.

Oh cochon!
Pig! We still haven't had a working camera yet, so no new Photos. Life with our "pig " is good. She still is very shy and leery of the boys. Her squeaks of delight when she gets some hay is awfully cute. Speaking of cute.... Nate is Walking! Slowly but surely he has been working on it. At first he had to not "think" about it to walk.
In a few days we will be up to full steam and off to the races. Right now it is a slow waddle and mostly five steps. All my free time has been going into the World Series! The Phillies are in it and the Kitchen is hopping!
Stupid RAIN! anyway I will get some rest soon and return to my life of Guinea pig ranching.

An update.
howdy y'all. Well we have been busy here. First off we will be adding a member to the family soon! No Jenna is not with child, we will be with pig! (guinea)
we now have a new ride in our stable a 92 aerostar. It was something of a found item, but we all fit! So that makes three! we will be selling the Escort, and the VW will be done at some point. I promise!
My extra time has been going into the other cars, so that they pass inspection

An ommision
Sorry this is not a family post, but something I have to put out there none the less.
I am not proud of our country....
it is a very tuff read. If you are not in tears you have no soul.

brothers in pajamas
well we are all just getting over a household bug.
Nate was hit the hardest, and didn't enjoy it at all.
he seems a little different now, his permeant chipper-nes has warn off some. Now when he is unhappy, he flails his body in protest. and when milo takes something of his he is not afraid to scream!

Mr. Nate.
I have been meaning to write a note about the little guy. Nate has been getting bigger by the second and keeping us on our toes. He loves to point and make hand gestures to grab everything. He is at that age where they love taking everything out of the basket, box, ect. Milo is becoming a pro at taunting Nate with remote controlled cars, and "fishing for nate"
I think Nate will be a climber, he does the steps daily, just going up and down for fun. I look away and he is atop something I didn't think he could get up on! The best part is that he loves music! to make it, to dance. His little baby dance makes my day everytime, it is like a butt shake with a little head bob tossed in.

What to do?
If you had a stage, and a yard to hold 40 to 50 people what would you do?
I personally would hold a "Lake Fest"
IT would be a cross between a concert, and a county fair, with a swap meet thrown in.
Maybe a giant tree swing thrown in....
any thoughts>?

Nathaniel 10 months
There have been so many milestones of late....
first, Nate's feat-climbing the stairs.....which he loves and does repeatedly all day....
He really loved the beach in Maine and made good friends with sand...
He loves music and tonight we even caught him dancing to Radiohead, which truly warmed this heart, indeed.
His loves-bread, Milo and making noise.
Dislikes-car rides, diaper changes and squash.

"The eagle has landed"
well we are back, we got in last night at 8 pm. The trip home was much harder than the trip up. I think the boys were done being in there car seats. Milo also was working on a little feaver. The best part about long trips away is coming back to your own bed! The 90 degree weather ,not so much. The trip was worth it and we had lotsa fun with all of our friends in Maine. Thanks everybody ever so much.

slightly delayed...
Well we were supposed to be in Maine right now, on a 11 day vacation. As luck would have it we got stuck. One of the cooks in the kitchen quit and I had to stay to cover. I ended up working 55 hours! Tonight is my last night, and tomorrow we hit the road running..
I am sad to say no bus yet. I haven't had a whole lot of time, and I didn't want to rush it.

BabyZilla
The baby Is on the move!
Little Nate has picked up speed and has been keeping mom and dad on their toes! He is always crawling around pulling up and dancing. Now when I look up I don't always find him. So we hosed off the baby gates , and set them up some place where they would lock. Nate doesn't like them.
We have finally gotten around to the "proofing"
With the second child, you are much more laid back about what they get into. "please don't Kiss the outlets"
At one party, to keep Nate happy, I let him wield a butter knife. (Lets just say the guests looked worried) A butter knife it isn't my first choice, but you learn to work with what you got.
The post title is from when Nate attacks Milo's toys. It might be trains, a fort ,or cars, but Nate comes along to tare it up. He does bang up job of it. The big lesson for Milo is learning to learn to live with it. If not , we are in for a long winter!

brothers
that they are,
Hi everybody out there in the "intertubes" Summer is in full swing and the boys have been having fun. Nate has started to really crawl and get into Milo's playthings. It has been a new hobby of Milo to try to keep his stuff away. We are getting really excited for our vacation and looking forward to getting out of the city...

Summer fun
hey gang!
Well we had a blast with callie here! We got to hit the beach and go swiming! milo loved jumping off of the boat. The Ocean was still a little nippy for us but chris braved it anyway. Nate is our little monkey now. He screeches and howls, loves swinging and nibbling with his little teethers. He has started to crawl, but doesnt get very far, he tends to just roll around to get somewhere. He still is chatting away, today he has been saying , hey dada!

Half a month behind!
Hi everybody!
Ok we havn't posted lately but we have been busy. After the last post I hurt my back and wasnt good for much. I still made it through work, but home I was a lump. Jenna did her best to keep up with the extra work, but 2 kids and all the chores takes it toll.
Then for the holiday weekend we went to our friends wedding in N.Y. Milo was so excited to move in to our new house ( hotel) he liked our new back yard( golf corse) and the indoor/outdoor pool was "really cool"
Well it was a grand time and we topped off the weekend by going south the shore house. It was Nates first trip, and he had lotsa fun.
No teeth yet, but he likes sitting by himself and grabbing everything.

Fort Doings
For his Birthday, Tanta Sue sent Milo two nifty kits...one was build a plane, the other a bird feeder. Promptly, Milo was building away....(with a little help from Mom), he was out in the fort painting his bird feeder when I snapped this photo. He looked awfully cute. Here is the finished project, now we need to get the birdseed!

Cinco de Quattro
yes, that is correct, it was the fifth of four!
Milo has officially turned four & we celebrated with a party & 2 cakes! You can see some more photos from the special day over here at Liz's sight.
This year has been pretty crazy for Milo with LOTS of changes, but he is growing so much & has such love in his heart that he brings to the every day...with wonderment and energy. He is a constant source of joy to his brother Nate and keeps this mama on her tows. How blessed we are!

Nathaniel 5 1/2 months
standing tall and firm ,
a teething-gummy mess
reaching and grabbing with such success
a gutteral yalp
your own boss proclaimed
you want to move and shake
so happy with all the Milo love
hugs him back
and smiles when that scamp is near
there never was a brother so dear
(& can't keep his hands off dad's beer)
rolling, rolling, rolling
from side to side
over and up
sleeping is good throughout the night,
the day time naps
are a little sporadic, but your happy, by golly
& so so jolly

Oh the Fort (or all decked out)
well another project started. I had started to take the deck down in the back late last year. Now that "winter" has ended I was able to get out and do some work. With the help of Mr "sawzall" It was no problem. I was able to cut up the pieces and build something for Milo. He is so excited. We cant pull him away from it. Jenna is out getting the pieces for the top now. We went with Pvc piping and tarps!! a little cheaper than lumber, and less work too. Every one is invited to stop by and hang out on the "Stoup" Bring on the dance parties!

Best Easter Ever...!
I have to say, Sunday was the best sunday we have had in a while. It was a mix of fun, family and great food. Milo got a good stash of treats from all of his Grands. I am willing to sacrifice my own oral health to save him from all the sugar. As a parent it, I feel it is my duty!
We also got to play music with all the kids. Nothing better than giving hyper kids an amp, guitars, drum, and Mic to rock the house. It was a fight for the dejembe but it turned into something fun.
Nate is getting so big, he has started grabbing for every thing now. he hasn't mastered rolling over, but it isn't far away. Milo is really into rock and roll right now, anything with a 16th beat will do. His dancing turns into a mosh-pit and he gets to blow off some "steam". Jenna is excited for the spring to be into full swing. She is also looking to taking some classes to shake off the ever present "mama brain". I on the other hand have bus on the brain. I won't bore you with the details, but I might soon have a VW yard! ( a second bus for parts)

And then It began...
Well, I don't know where to start... besides the fact that we bought a bus.....I should say Transporter type 2 1974 VW. It was Inspected! (well not that it should of been) It ran great, until
hour 2, of my trip home. I should have been back at 4 or so. I made it home a little after 10 pm. I picked the coldest day of the month to pick it up.I had to make a couple of stops to warm my feet up. ( no heat) Liz recommended I put my gloves over my thinly socked feet. It died about 3 miles from home. I dont know what exactly happened to the engine but I hope I can salvage most of it. (looks hopeful)
I was going to tare it down anyway, this helped speed up the process and "freshen" him up. I have lotsa hope and every one is so excited. I think he will be ready by August.
Jenna has named him Argyle. Milo is having a blast just running around inside ripping down the walls cutting rope and using the screwdrivers. I am enjoying having my hands busy in something creative/ practical/ rewarding. I thought my Philly family would giving me a hard time about owning a vehicle older than myslef, but for the most part they are all excited.
Some lessons learned so far....
1- buying a bus on ebay is dumb....
2-driving with out plates or stickers is dumb.
3- there is always something else.
4-Busses come standard with, lighters, bows, rolling papers, and pink floyd CD's. ( not joking!)

(Big) pout in the (little) puffy coat.
Hey everybody!
Well fun times here In P.A. We finally got some snow here and Milo was excited to go and play, not to excited to get dressed for it. It took an hour to conjole him into the snow suit/ jacket/gloves/boots to go out side. (he wanted to go, but still was having trouble doing it!)
Nate is still the ball O' smiles and joy. He has a cute high pitched squeal for a laugh now, fun!
